Hello I need some help guys..I have a 2005 evo 8 ..5 speed and i'm running the exedy twin disk clutch ..I attached 3 pics..2 of a shim and 1 pic of the wave clip ..I want to know if the shim goes between the wave clip and the throw out bearing ..I just removed the tranny and I have no idea where this shim goes..any idea guys? thanks

 

That washer looks like apart of the Preasure plate and thats not good.

 

If its from the EXEDY, then I would put it on first, then wavesprings and clip last.

 

I don't remember having a "shim" with my Exedy twin.
I did have to use 3 wavesprings to keep the TOB from popping back out.

 

This is driving me crazy ..i just emailed the pics to exedy and this is what they said

Thank you for using Exedy products. That shim that you have pictures is not a part of the clutch assembly. It appears to be a bearing shim for the transmission itself.

 

Yea man, that doesn't belong in there at all.

 

Wow thats weird..Wonder there the hell that shim came from ..It looks like a shim inside the tranny ..I bought the car used so I guess it was there just hanging out lol
