Help with Maintenance info?
Hey Evo people!
So its closing in on my 60k mile barrier. And im reading on the internet that i need to do more things than just change oils and such.
Im used to having like old crappy cars that you really dont care about. This is my first car that i love to take care of. Im driving a Lancer Evolution IX "07 and was wondering what it is recommended to do with the car at 60k.
I dont want anything cheap or something like that. This is my beauty and love and would like to buy it pretty things!
.
If anyone could spare his/hers time and write a list of what is needed to be done i would be grateful.
Also one other question. My English is quite "not all there" so bare with me.
When im driving i can hear like knocking noises from the "drift train" or so says google translate if have a image.

"""I found this image on google so its not my car, if anyone here has its ownership and does not like that im using it just give me a PM"""
i think the knocking noises come from there. I can just hear it under my car and my friend thinks its that there. But im open to suggestions aswell
And where should it be best to order one, since im from iceland we dont have that big marketing unless i go to the Mitshubishi dealership and they will charge me one leg for it.
So im quite forced to order it outside my country.
Oh and i also need disc brakes
Looking forward to comments.
Best Regards
Ziggije

What you are pointing too is a CV Joint/Axel. Is the car making a clicking sound in a turn or on take off?
If so that may be your issue.
For the brake pads I would just research here and choose what is best for your application/driving needs

Thanks for your reply gsrboi80. The sounds i hear is mostly when im turning and when i go over a speedbump. And often when i take off slowly.
Yep 60K calls for a timing belt replacement. It also says to replace the water pump but I find that crazy. I didn't do mine the last time and it's doing fine at 103k. I would also replace the outer belts it's a good time to do that as they have to be removed to do this.
If you are hearing a clicking noise as the poster said above it is your CV joints. Normally they don't go bad unless the boot tears but who knows how much it's been abused. Jack the car up and see if there is back and forth play when you spin the tires forwards and back quickly. There should be little to no play in them.
FWIW your English is fine. You must not read this site often. There are many that are far worse. It's said they will charge you an arm and a leg
