HKS 272 cams?

Previous owner told me that the car has HKS 272 cams(both) installed.

since I have to take the cover off to check, I didn't bother to check .

The thing is my idle isn't rough at all. All 272 seemed idle rough , but mine doesn't at all, just like normal idle.

Is there anything wrong? or should I change something else to make the idle sound rough?

HKS cams are very mild AND with a good tune you really wont even notice you have them at idle.

^ correct depending on your tuner, your idle can be made quite smooth. my car has a set of hks 272's and used to have a little lope but now the idle is really smooth and you can barely notice the difference in the cams at idle

This is the main reason I love those cams! They also make wicked TQ on low RPM.
I hate wobbly/stuttering idling. :}

Bring it to your tuner then. It's easy to make it idle like crap. Guess I will never understand things people want.

swap out to 280's. you'll love the idle if that's all you're looking for. Or maybe pull your MAF sensor plug

I have HKS 272 cams my idle is slightly rough. The air fuel ratio fluctuates at idle but pulls clean. I don't know where to tune it!

You dont want a rough idle, you want lope...there is a difference. With MIVEC cars, its just a tune thing.

If it's a IX then just lower your timing a little at the idle cells when you're tuning. Maybe drop your idle under 800 RPM if it's higher than that.

If it has cam gears and they've been adjusted to reduce overlap that could also cause them to idle smooth. Installed 0,0 they should lope a little if they are HKS 272's and the tuner hasn't used the MIVEC to reduce lope.

it could either be tuned right and minimum cam lope, an easy way to determine if you have hks cams on it,they cast stamped there hks logo on both of the cams.....if i remember where they are right since i havent seen mine in a year or two, they should be on the side of the cams by the cam angle sensor. good luck hopefully he put them in.

This is 05 Evo 8, so it's not a MIVEC head, and no aftermarket cam gears.
Yes ,not rough..want lope idle, just like gr gr gr gr gr ~
Is there anyway I can check if it my car has cams without open the valve cover?

hm.. so if I lower the idle, and the car makes lope sound, does that mean it has cams?

or stock cams could make lope sound as well?
