couple ?'s about running BBK Full
couple ?'s about running BBK Full
I purchased a bbk off of another member and I'm trying to decide which route to take.
1- I got the fp oil feed line that runs from the oil filter housing. Is this exceptionally better than running from the head?
2- I have a fp 18# and 25# WGA. The 25# came with the turbo but I thought that fp only made a 23#. There isn't any markings on the new WGA and I only plan on running 26 to 28#'s. Should I just stick with th 18#?
3- I want to do cams but I don't think that I can afford too much down time. Can the springs and retainers be changed without pulling the head or should I go with something like the S1's so I can keep the stock valvetrain?
Don't beat me up too bad.

Loved my BBK full. Go with the 18 psi or 23 psi gate. With the right tool you can do springs with head on. Oh no need to upgrade the line on the full. But will do no harm if you do run the FP line.
Springs can def be done without pulling the head. You do need a few tools, like a good valve spring compressor kit for OHC engines. Also need a way to hold valves up, normal way is basically a compression test adapter with the schrader valve removed from it.
Full is an awesome turbo!! Stick with the '25' psi actuator, much better spool and boost hold, and the oil line is not a necessity, but cannot hurt either, just be sure it is the red filter(the orifice is .125 for the journal bearing turbo's).

you can use this tool without pressurizing the head, just need to have the motor TDC and BDC when you do it.
