Evo 8 sounds like a subaru.

On my way to work today my check engine light came on. Stopped to get fuel and when i started the car it was gone. So after installing my new walbro 255 and maf adapter for my K&n i went for a drive this evening. Car started up fine idled perfect.
Did a boost run at 20psi afrs were in the 11.0 flat range and it pulled nice and strong. Stop at a stop light and the car starts to shake a lil, then a lil more, by the time im almost home it wont rev and my afr's are maxed lean. I get back to my garage and pull the plugs and they look gd. Put everything back together and still doing its missfiring. I notice i didnt plug the driver coil back in and its sounded the same? Plug it in an no difference No codes. So i pop the wire off the plug closest to the passenger side and.....no popping/fire. Which runs off the driver side coil. The others popped which means they were getting fire. Im guessing the coil is dead. Would a high boost run cause this? Or do they just die like this?

Check/replace your spark plugs, maybe your coil boots, try some different coils, etc.

No the coil isnt even sparking thru the wire. It made no difference when unplugged. Getting ready to buy a used coil monday. Are these coils as bad as people say?

My coil going down the rod was Cracked at one time, may want to check that... The metal piece inside the rubber insulator.

just get some new coils all around. I believe extremepsi.com has some, Shipping is always quick with them too
