Most miles out of Exedy SD Twin

Who out there got the most miles out of an Exedy SD twin on a DD before a rebuild? Done some searching and 30K is the most I've seen. Is that about as much as one could expect? Trying to decide on a clutch ($$ vs life).

i think it all depends on where you live.

LEt's say in NYc driving an EVO on a daily basis, defintely puts more wear on the clutch since there is more traffic...

If you live somewhere with not much traffic, then it is much easier on the clutch, of course other things being equal...

Also do you track the car? Autocross? Drag racing? Track Days?
There are many variables...

Thanks you replying. Yea, I know there are many factors that influence clutch life. I just want to know how long the Exedy Twin can last in a best case senario for a daily driver. If there is nobody out there who got more than 30K out of one in an Evo, there is no way I am spending the extra for it. I am typically very easy on clutches. BTW, I daily drive it with frequent autocrosses. No launching, but plenty of high-RPM shifts and need something that can hold about 550wtq and last a while.

I wouldn't expect 30K out of the clutch as a daily. I got about 10K out of mine before the intermediate plate warped (at which point I replaced with a Comp HD Stage IV).

My first SD twin, I got 30k out of. That was a ton of launches, too much abuse actually. pressure plate ring was warped, floater plates were trash...

I am at 35k miles now and going strong. Only a few launches at the track. I won't be rebuilding this one again, I can't justify the cost with my few mods. Good clutch though.

How is the Comp HD Stage IV working for you? Miles? At the moment, that is my alternate to the Exedy Twin.

The last 5k I just abused that clutch with low 12's on pump with stock turbo and injectors and a 11's second pass but I am doing a top mount 64/66 kit from ma performance and a built motor next thing to break is the 6 speed

I dont think anyone will be able to get you a solid answer as to how long your clutch is going to last. So many variables.

Yea, I know. Just asking who has the longest. Looks like 40K confirmed so far.

BIvging this thread back to life for the purpose of adding info to this little data base. I was hoping to see more info since the last time I posted here.

I'm now at 45k miles with no signs of slipping or high rpm shifting. Key difference from last time was only a couple of launches ever.. I'll post again when I find that limit.

Stock turbo 340whp, mostly highway but plenty of aggressive driving in between.

Thanks for following up. I went with an Exedy Twin at the time of my 2.3L build. It now has 10k DD miles and counting. It's holding 700whp, 590wtq and shifting fine so far. No issues.
