Personally id go the fp red route. Not to knock map or anything I dont know anyone running there turbo out here, however I have been running my jb red for 40ishk miles thus far has held up great, transient response n quick spool are nice but a bit of lag helps driving when cruising at highway speeds....better gas mileage n besides if its a bit laggy then your not running the shaft speeds up high this helps with longevity of the turbos center section. But then again a bb turbo can outlast a jb turbo.....r
Good luck n post your results.

Hey man curious at what your Power numbers or if you have ever had it Dynoed. It looks like were gonna have close to the same setup. Ill have the FP red BB with Kelford 272s and supporting mods. I am gonna tune on pump gas but I am hoping to hit 450whp.
Anyways, Do you like the red? Any victories with it against anything formiddable?

Yea zenoise it was tuned two summers ago by tuning tech, dynojet 105 ambient dyno room temp on 91 413 hp 343tq....now that its been in the 50s to 60s now night n day difference. As far as likin it I do theres other turbos that might be better, but for slight later then stock spoolup, with a great midrange n top end its good. As far as kills yea ive killed plenty, but bikes n other high hp cars are another story. But ill give 80% a run for there money. Eventually I wanna upgrade to e85 and a bb black.....500 to 600 is my eventual im done n enjoy it goal.

Not to disuade you, it is possible with cooler temps n 93 at the pump....with the way it pulls now prolly 420 to 430 for every 10 degrees ambient temp its worth about 10 hp.... Give or take. So i wish u luck just remember 450 is a lot. Itll take a while to get bored with it...

Is the EF3 intended for a specific fuel type? Or is it unbiased towards either E85 or 93?

I dont think so. I dont think any stock frame turbo is really intended for a certain fuel. Maybe the bigger turbos like the 42r and other turbos of that size. But I honestly dont know. I do know e85 makes a hell of a lot more HP.

I had a JB FP Red break off a turbine fin one me as well. Was told that I would have to pay $150 off a new turbo to have it rebuilt, not worth it.
