another ebay 70mm throttle body question

hey everyone i was looking for a throttle body upgrade and i said what the hell and looked on ebay for ***** and giggles and i came across this, its made out of good aluminum so i dont think it would crack or break on me but i was wondering what could happen with a sh!tty thottle body? i could keep my stock and try this 1 for $130 and if i dont like it ill take it off. as long as i dont damage my car its not something that would brake the bank and it would be one of those win or break even kind of things, if it works great then i got a great deal if its a pos then i only lost $130 so what im really wondering is what damage could be done to the engine with a sh!tty throttle body? if nothing then ill take the risk and post a review, but if people tell me i could ruin my car then screw it, its not worth it

I suppose the only damage that could really happen is if something fell off the TB and got sucked into the intake manifold or if the sensor didnt fit or function correctly but I might buy one too. For the money if it doesnt work well it will make a cool paper weight.

If you are not pairing this with a like ported intake manifold, don't expect a power boost off this. ESPECIALLY some off-brand, maybe kinda doohickey off eBAy.
I have a boomba TB and it isn't even that awesome. Skittish light throttle, i.e. creeping in rush hour stop and go, sucky from a start...
No real appreciable boost in hp/tq alone in my feeling. But, I still am running the OEM intake manifold also, no port on it and the gains are up top if you mate a ported IM with a ported to match TB.
I got the boomba as my factory leaker failed. My 2 cent pieces.

I just installed one onto my car along with a ported stock intake manifold, had the flanges welded up to support a 70mm port job, only leak/problem is the biss screw. I tapped the hole and used a bolt cut off the head, and made a slice in it for a flat head useable screw, and rtv'ed it, Doesnt leak anymore and i also took off the iac, idles great, throttle response feels better, and my turbo doesn't surge anymore under high load, low rpms. Next mod is the 6262 thats in the mail right now. There is alot of material needed to take off to make this port happen. Cost me $140 for the welding and milling of the throttle body flange on intake manifold. I can not complain about this for $140!

honestly some parts off of ebay are fine, but you can get the full blown tb for 275$ i belive. And the gains from this arent even that big. So buy getting a cheaper, non tested part that can only possibly cause you more damage in the long run, i'd rather just run my stock as i currently am and invest that money into something else.

that 100$ would be much better spent on a mini catch can with an fittings

I was being cheap and bought a ebay throttle body from au2parts2015. It was a magic 70mm throttle body. I wasn't able to do a boost leak test until 5 months after I purchased it and now I found out that the thing leaks from every where. Don't throw your $$$ away like me and my buddy. We both purchased the same item. The seller assured me after I purchased it(but didn't receive it yet due to china airlines) that they haven't relieved any buyers complaints about the item leaking ever. So I'm was fooled and don't let yourselves be fooled. Just spend the $$$ on a quality part. Don't throw $$$ away like me. The seller is refusing to even give me a partial refund.
