I would agree with the turbo part of it but even with treeing him badly his tq and hp will take him past you being the car will run out of steam eventually.

Tq is what wins not hp. A 100 hp difference between cars can be subsided and given a fighting chance but haveing 200 more ft lbs of tq and then the hp on top of it not a chance.

 

so noob question is 400tq dangerous for the life of my car? I hear a lot of people say 400 and over is bad. I have read a lot and Ive been in a evo that was 389tq to the wheels and omg it sucked you back in the seat so hard I bet id lose a 100 dollar bill test.

 

You can make 400 with a good tune and Fuel pump. Ported exhaust wouldn't hurt. With a good launch you might take him to 70 or 80. Get an FP red or black with supporting mods, drop some weight, then you can take him up to 100-120.

 

dude but think you ran a 12.37 on 337 and 312tq at 410-420/400 you should break into the high to mid 11s? I the stock gt500 runs 12.4 and adding 100hp which is what he says he does have an aftermarket pulley thats clear and exhaust and he said tuned id guess maybe 11.7-12flat? So if we can hit the same 1/4 as that at 400/400 I don't see why ill only have him till 70-80? But will see Im pumped Ill record it so I have proof to bring to you guys win or lose. Worst part is I'm on stock clutch =( and my tuner warned me against launching the car since i went up about 100whp going up 200whp and a few good launches will be the last nail in the coffin. But its not my dd so I'll be fine. But he did say it did not slip once while tuning so he said its got some good life in it if I treat it right.....and I have just a few highway pulls here and there. But I should have all the parts by next week and found a shop to install water pump timing belt pulleys timing belt cams and valve springs and retainers for 450 so I feel thats a good deal for down here.

dude im so down. I always love seeing other evos. My work is packed lately been everyones running boy for just about everything. But when I get some time I'll have to meet up with you. My friend already says im part of the evo **** lol cause ever evo I see waves at me and smiles cause we know we have cool rides lol. Theres a dude in phx with about the same and his car feels night and day from mine. And I recently found there are quite a few in tucson by dmaf and subi's so I'm kinda torn about where to move. But I really wanna beat this gt500 first I just dont want to be a complete lameO and know ill beat him I want it to be a good race with me as the underdog X)

lol cool hey can you answer a quick question so I dont look like a noob will dsm injectors fit? My buddy has 1450s bluemax for 200 bucks they are new he was going to put on his built dsm but now hes moving to over 2000cc for e85 just wanna make sure they fit before I buy them.

 

Yes Evo and DSM injectors are interchangeable.

 

Ok well my car only made 350wtq and his cobra made 500wtq and I still beat him from a 20-125mph roll. I posted the video earlier idk if any of you guys saw it
