Think I can hit it? Im looking at trying to beat a friends 2011 shelby GT. He has exhaust and a smaller pulley and dyno'd at a little over 600 and 570 tq. Id feel id have a chance at 400 from a dig with a good launch?

 

O2 dump and switch to speed density, also clutch upgrade if your going to be launching. Another thing would be test pipe, and getting your stock Ex mani ported that's some easy power.

Your buddies got a powerful car no doubt. It's going to be tough! When happens though video it and post it up!

Hate to say it but 400 hp isnt gonna beat a 2011 Shelby gt. For getting 400 whp you should be close. Speed density and a different fuel pump aren't necessary. Clutch I would agree with though. With anything rwd you have to remember that the drivetrain loss is only about 10%. With that said even with a good launch and him having 570 ft lbs of tq he will overtake you.

 

awww damn will hes an older fella so maybe his age will give me a driver mod =) I will post videos gotta get mods on and a tune first damn I was really hoping the car wouldnt be that fast it weighs a lot more too =(

 

Keep in mind you have one of the most heavest evo's as well. His Shelby prob weighs as much as your evo maybe a little less and your only saving chance is he spins the tires and doesn't move and you pull a really good launch. Now if you were to drop say 700 lbs off your car, and put 500 hp 500ft lbs now your talking a race.

 

I'm gonna have to agree with curse you won't you get him off the line but his power will catch up and pull away sorry thats a big difference in #s but good luck and

E85 is going to help break 400HP. The set up you mentioned above slides in perfect with E85 too!

 

I don't mean to hurt the feelings but if you wanna beat on the big boys then spend some money. I mean everyone forgets that there are tons of factors that go into beating v8 cars. Sure our cars are light but you have to have the power to push them. If you wanted to beat on more of them should have bought a lighter evo. I mean if you were to say you wanted to beat an older viper I would have said sure no problem. A newer srt10 not a chance. Power to weight only goes so far.

S2 cams will be a great upgrade and give you a ton of mid and high ranges. They were a huge difference when I went from the crappy HKS 272s to the s2's. It definately will help the car some. If he spins his tires and you get a good launch he may get you by third gear.

 

Consider a larger turbo, the fp green spools quick and will give you that extra fighting chance..
But when it all comes down to it, your going to have to tree the crap out him.

 

Beating him from a dig is definitely possible if you get a great launch, is he on street tires? I beat my buddies 510rwhp 04 cobra with my 394whp Evo from a roll in Mexico one night so if you can get a really good launch and he spins a lot then you can beat him
