2 different stock throttle bodies...

2 different stock throttle bodies...
OK, I just recently got my BR throttle body from someone local and compared it with my stocker. There's something different between the 2 and it's this thing.
The one on the left is my stock and the one on the right is the BR ported one I just got.
This is the inside of the hole of my stocker.
This is the inside of the BR one. Notice that it's plugged up halfway down.
I'm pretty sure I'll be just fine with using the BR one but why the difference? I don't even know what it does but it has a lot of soot in it.
