BBK-Full Bites the Dust!

I have had my BBK-Full on my evo for the past 10K miles, and unfortunately it had an untimely death.

This is what happens when the compressor gets the munchies for filter media:

My BOV punched a hole in the air filter, and the turbo got fed!

I am wondering what to do now?
I am stock block, and have been running SD on 26lbs/91octane. It ran like a beast.

Should I consider upgrading to the CHRA BBK? I am almost looking into a HTA Green. I want to maximize this 91 octane at my high elevation of 4600 feet.

Thanks for the help!

You talking about upgrading to a ball bearing BBK-Full, or a ball bearing BBK-B? Or were you referring to something else all together?

I have yet to contact CBRD to see what my actual options are, as they were closed when this happened, but I would like to increase the turbo size for sure.

The "B" has had some good results I see. I have only seen a couple "C"s though.

Ouch! That was a nice settup. Ive been debating about getting the new BBK full... I think a green is very similar power levels. Similar spool from what Ive read. Let us know what you decide.

I am also running a BBK Full, and love it! Great power with good spool. That being said, when the time comes, I want to move on to a BB BBK B or C. I just want the step up in power, and being ball bearing, spool up shouldn't be terrible.

I would make the change to something a bit bigger if I were in your situation. Good luck!

Thanks for the input! I really have seen limited results on the B/C. Know anywhere I can find some solid specs?

Thanks!

I havent seen many results posted on these forums, however, a while ago I actually called CBRD and spoke to someone there in depth about their turbos and which of their turbos would work best for my set up/goals for my car.

It may be a good idea to start there and discuss your goals with them, they definitely were able to steer me in the right direction!

Mike-

got your email- very unfortunate- but as always we will work with you on the most cost effective solution-

upgrading always helps- especially if the compressor cover has been machined from the wheel-

Send her back- we will get an analysis on the options- and work out what best fits your needs-

Cheers

CB

If you wouldn't mind, can explain how you reckon that your BOV punched a hole in your air filter. I am just wanting to understand how it happened.
