next engine build maybe?
im not into using the 4g64 in my evo, call me crazy i just dont think using a block from another car is what i want. reminds me of the whole b20vtec frankenstien stuff of my honda days.
500whp on pump 93 that will make a better daily driver than my current setup. no crazy power numbers and as far as ET goes id just like to get down the track with it in one piece haha. id like to build something that will last past 50k.
I would talk to the pistons manufacture and swain tech about coatings on top of pistons and in combustion chamber. The pistons is designed with clearances for a certain amount of heat transfer and if the pistons is coated and top much heat is rejected then the pistons may never reach the proper temperature and will constantly be slapping. The head also has heat transfer built in so it can be at the proper temp and costing that would cause those parameters to change. You may end up with a motor that always runs cold and has pistons slap. Once you figure all that out then if the costing failed all clearances would be wrong again. I would just do oil shedding costing on Crank and rods and a friction reducing coating on the skirts if it doesn't already have it and call it a day internally. Then I would coat the complete hot side setup inside and out to help reduce temps under hood and improve spool up.
good points, with the rod length and crank stroke idk if it will interfere with the oil squirters. my plan is to use cp pistons and they come with no coatings so the skirts would def get coatings but i will see what they say about the tops.
my plan for the coatings isnt really to increase performance but more of a way to increase longevity of the build. ill search for anyone else on here who has done the combustion chambers but i dont remember seeing many with experience.

so im still rocking my stock ported IM/TB and ive wanted to upgrade for awhile but havent realy found anything that i thought was worth it. i was looking at a way to get more even flow to all cylinders and maybe get something custom done. thats when i came across some pics and a company called jenvey. they make a dual plenum setup and a 70mm TB that uses our iac,tps sensors. this looks amazing and the so is the price$$$. it looks like it will distribute air more evenly plus i like the fact that its a 3 piece design so i could take the top off and have a look inside.
just thinking out loud, as knowone has posted of using it in the forums.
