Hey guys, its that time again. I'm getting that itch to go faster. I really did not want to do it so soon but winter is here and this is the best time for the car to get some work done. I am looking to upgrade my turbo setup and looking for power range of 600hp on e85 without a lot of lag.
What type of PTE turbo thats more of a 5XXX rather then a 6XXX turbo would get me there?? I was thinking about going with the PTE 5862. Wasn't sure what otype of T3 turbine housing to go with.
I'm trying to push this on a stock motor right now and eventually do plan on getting a built motor.
Also does the type of T3 manifold I get matter with the type of PTE turbo I'm going for?? ( of course the hot-side will be t3) more looking for a length/size issue.
If I go with the PTE 5862 where could I get a bolt-on 02 housing and downpipe, is there a kit that comes with a certain 02 housing and downpipe for PTE turbos that will be an easy install? I'm looking to do the least about of fab work possible. I searched but have no seen any sort of kit for it.
Here are some of my mods:
evo 8 stock block
gsc stage 1 cams
GSC Titanium Beehive Spring Upgrade
megan manifold
evo 9 turbo
3" turbo back exhaust
exedy twin disk
BR dual pumps
FIC 1450cc
ETS fmic

I was originally thinking about the 6262 but I know for sure that will be too laggy for my stock motor. When I upgrade my motor thats the turbo Ill go with.
I wanted to know if anyone recommended something different then the PTE5858..but looks like thats a good choice.
Now for my other questions, I want to get a T3 manifold..does the type/brand I get real matter fitment wise ? For the housing option, which I am sure goes with the 02 housing that is needed but what type is more available in the market..a 5-bolt 02 housing or 4-bolt 02 housing?
Also where would I be able to get a 02housing and downpipe can I get that will be bolt-on or close to it??

A 4 bolt housing option or vband housing option would probably be the easiest to find parts for but I would personally go with the ETS 5858 kit.

The 6266/6262 are definitely much larger than you need, the 6266 is capable of 600whp (dynojet) on 93 (my conservative timing 24psi map is around 560 dynojet [numbers converted from AMS mustang dyno] in ridiculously hot weather). That being said, the 5858 would be the best choice for PTE offerings for your goal. Can't go wrong with AMS/ETS kits, and I would definitely go with vband.
Is there a link for the ETS 5858 kit? I searched on their website and couldn't inf anything. Just looking around their , the prices are a bit higher then what I was looking for.
Ill keep that as one option.
Does ETS have a 02 housing for a downpipe only?
Any other places have that?

Thanks for posting up the link. It's our standard turbo kit. The PT5858 turbocharger is a great option but for 600whp I would suggest going with the PT6262 like others said. You can make it on the 5858, but it's going to pushing it pretty hard. The PT5862 is another good option, but the PT6262 will make it no problem and still have room for more down the road if you decide to turn up the wick a bit more

Of course the 6262 will have some lag but it is a 74 lb/min turbo compared to the 5857 which is a 57 lb/min turbo.

To the OP, you may just be better off getting a Black if cost is an issue. Have your tuner keep the torque on the low side though if you want that stock block to last.
