Want to "upgrade" from my 4088r?

Right now I have a full race twin scroll gt4088r on my 2.3 and like it but want to change it out and try something else! I searched alot but didn't find much info but I am leaning towards the hta3794!How would this compare? will it have similar spool characteristics?

Man that is a question I'd REALLY like to know the answer to as well, I have pondered the same thing quite a bit. If I were a betting man I'd say the GT3794R will be slightly laggier but with the potential to completely smash the GT4088R for power. You are looking for more power with similar spool I assume?

Depends on fuel, engine spec and how brave you are.... Boostin Performance have pushed theirs past 900whp to get into the low 8s at 170+mph which puts it into serious business territory

I always loved watching your vids Sharkbite! You built a badass car! I would like 700-750 hp at about 40 psi or less, all I run is e85 and I drive the car 3-4 times a week most of the time it is traffic but love opening it up on the highway I don't race in traffic light to light so highway is where I want my power. I think I have my car ready for bigger power maybe my 3.5 inch intercooler will have to be swapped out but everything else is overbuilt!

Actually it's funny cause I had the ETS 4088 in 2008 and then moved to the 3794HTA within in the last two yrs. Haven't had any solid numbers but when I had the 4088 I made 670 @ 33 lbs. When I switched over the first pull made 730 with the same spool. I literally swapped it right over put the car on the dyno and did a pull.

But ever since then the car for some reason never made anything past 33 lbs. I believe I have fixed the issue..LOL inside joke... But since then I have changed the motor to a 11:5:1 CR Buschur 2.4LR with STM 650 cams running E98.

The car is sitting without a tranny as it got sent off to Jacks to get some new gears put in it as well as a new clutch. So I am hoping by Jan the car will be done.

In regards to spool the car spooled just as fast with the 3794HTA than it did with the 4088. I couldn't tell a difference. Only difference will be the 3794HTA puts out more HP.

The 40R max power is 800. Also, something I didn't know when I got the 4088 is that it's been around for a long time, unchanged in the same format. Whereas the original 3794HTA has been updated with the billet wheel and is no longer a standard 37.

The 3794HTA max power is unknown right now I think. I know the AWD car did 910 and I've seen another Evo running it hit 970 @ 52 lbs on a dyna pack. So maybe with a slightly different setup it can touch 1000 HP.

The only problem with my setup is the TS will limit the highest HP limits.

Cool thanks for all the tips! I am limited to a t4 setup with a 3 inch V band out so it was a borg warner or a forced performance turbo for me! I will give the HTA3794 a try and I am sure I will like it
Thanks
Kurt

Their is no point going to the 3794R if you aren't shooting for well over 800whp imho - the GT3786HTA or GT3586HTA (or a Precision PT6466 - though I knew a million people would recommend the Precisions despite the FP probably being at least as good).

Here is a good example of how mental a 3794R can been when leaned on: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/al...rformance.html

Owner sounds like he reckons he still hasn't made the most of what the turbo can offer, more to do with the chassis than the turbo.
