Who else has blown off intercooler hoses?

I'm seriously going to start carrying a phillips head everywhere I go.

On the dyno yesterday, I blew off the hose nearest to the air filter TWICE. We ended up having to T-bolt clamp it to keep it on.

Has anyone else blown off intercooler hoses on the dyno or while driving?

On an up-note, I made 305 AWHP (Buschur catless turboback, Greddy Profec B - Spec II, SAFC-II, AEM short ram intake, 255lph Walbro) .

That "blows". Very odd. Hasn't happened to me, yet.

Nice number man and yes Ive had one blow off before. T-bolt clamps are the way mitsu should have went when deciding on clamps.

Use a 8mm or 10mm socket (depending on if you still are using the stock clamps) instead of a philips. You can never torque those things tight enough with a screwdriver.

Last summer on my way home from Vegas my intercooler hose popped off as well....I figured the Vegas heat caused everything to expand. therefore i torqued down all the connections.

May I suggest a set of Samco Intercooler hoses and TBolt Clamps.
Do that and forget about carrying those tools forever.

T-bolt clamps aren't always the answer either.
I replaced all my clamps with t-bolts when I replaced my intercooler.
When I ran it the 1st time, the hose that conects to the TB blew off, (after my boost peaked to 25psi due to the lack of restriction in my new IC).
I, of course, turned the boost down.
When I looked at the TB connection I saw that the width between the raised bead and the begining of the TB connector was smaller than the width of the new t-bolt.
That ment the t-bolt was too wide to clamp the hose down behind the raised bead.
So, I put the stock clamp back on and tightened the crap out of it.
No problems since.
Moral of the story: If replaceing with T-bolt clamps, check the width at the Throttlebody.

Those hardpipe kits are looking awefully nice (Even just for piece of mind).

Tightening the crap out of the stock clamp didn't help but the T-Bolt (Knock on wood) has held steady. We'll see if the rest of the hoses stay together.

The T-bolt calmps worked great for me, never had a problem. The T clamps have a wider surface area so you dont have to crank the s%&t out of them. I got mine at a Napa auto parts. about $5.00 ea.
