Who else has blown off intercooler hoses?
running the AMS intercooler with lower intercooler piping.
Tonight while at low boost the lower intercooler piping blew righ off of the intercooler. ... POP! what a scare that was.
So i had to remove all the plastic panels, call out a few buddies, and jack up the car, then replace the pieces. . . I will be notifiying AMS tomorrow...
SO then after the fix, I did a test run and POP! there it goes again. So now I'm afraid to boost.

Just happened to my wife and me this weekend, she was driving--this kind of stuff always happens when she is driving. We thought we blew the turbo. I eyeballed the engine bay and didn't notice it. We drove quite a few miles, while staying off boost and pi$$ing off at least one woamn on the expressway. I rechecked the hoses today and noticed the clamp off of the hose, then noticed the hose off of the pipe. I feel like such a sap because I neglected to tighten all of the 10mm bolts as I normally do before we take a weekend drive AND because I didn't see the loosened hose clamp AND because I had my tools with me.

This happened to me on my GTR while driving hard... felt something go thought it was a turbo, the car had no power no matter how much gas i gave it. floored, it went 15miles per hour ... then i thought it was the motor cos black smoke was billowing out the back. turns out it was intercooler pipe breaking off and messing up the air sensor. Bought some HKS hard pipes and that solved the problem.
