Whereto did you move it, Golgo?

Edit: Duh, OK! My reply above took me to the new location. Thanks anyway, Golgo!

UPDATE!

I got the car re-tuned at CBRD by changing nothing except the tune (back on the MAF) and fixed every issue I'd been experiencing.

Thanks for all the input!

I know I'm probably gonna get bashed for recommending this to you, but I'm going to do it anyways because I feel that all Evo's buck part throttle. I think you should look into a COP kit. That'd smooth everything out for ya.

there was no need to remove the maf to fix your car. now you have a restriction again. SD drives way smoother then maf when you have someone doing it that knows what their doing.

+1,000 on that!. My car on SD drives 10x's better then what it did bone stock on the MAF. Now my car has 630whp and DD it.

Take Badev0 "AKA Scott." for instants. He picked up 3mph in the 1/4mile from removing that dumb MAF.

PS: i drive my car in 20 degree weather with a mini battery start first crank, E85 with 1550cc injectors. If you have a good tuner you dont have to worry about much.

It all depends on who you talk to...

Every reputable tuner I spoke to in the DC area would not tune my car on the factory computer with SD.

Mellon runs lots of horsepower on their MAF cars, so does CBRD and a few others.

TSCOMPUSA...I wish I had time to do the remote tuning process with you, but I had to get an immediate fix. I appreciate your help too!!

Im not say you CANT make alot of power on the MAF, sure you can. But the stock ECU is so good now a days and converting it to SD it will drive better, and make more power same mods vs same mods, that is all im saying. "assuming the tuner understands how it works."

For Instants: Im going to be running a Front Facing setup on Stock ECU n probably run 9's no problem. With a MAF it limits what u can do to the car. For example: You shouldnt run a atmoshic BOV, you cant run a Forward Facing setup, you cant run a large intake cone bec that MAF takes up alot of space, you cant get full potential out of a 80mm turbo inlet due to the MAF being a 3.5" i believe. So making anything over 450whp you should trash the MAF IMO.

Its like saying why run a MBC when you have a Hybrid Boost setup on ur car? Pretty much what im saying you down graded your car.

no problem. if you want to put it on SD in the future, once it gets warmer out contact me and we can do a road tune in person.

to each there own-

we prefer maf for most applications-

it works well,

some people like SD-

we've tuned enough evo's in the past 5-6 years to know what we prefer-

and our client is happy

My evo bucks on the highway usually only in 5th gear when i give it the littlest gas or where the car is boosting only a few pounds. It doesn't do it all the time and sometimes not at all when i get on the highway. its weird, some days it will do it a handful of times in a 20 mile drive on the highway and some days it won't at all. it don't buck really hard but it seems like the fuel cuts off for at split second. no check engine light or anything. it will do this in any temp. but like i said it hasn't been a really bad issue to where i wanna drop it off at a shop and have a mechanic check it out. but i wanna add a few more parts to my evo to make more power soon so i hope a new tune will fix this issue.
