i have had this EVO5 for a year , and barely drive it, i also have a 9mr, what would be the best route to go for 350ish? cheapest way with quality parts, meaning not a ebay build, but a proven recipe i can work from..... thanks

 

I have no idea what type of turbo the evo 5's use. Do they not flow enough to make 350 with the usual upgrades? If not, throw a 9 turbo on it and use the usual recipe.

 

5s turbo is almost identical to 8s with 10.5 hot side, it's possible to reach 350hp with stage1 type of mods, camshafts & ecu tuning.
It's not worth it to upgrade the turbo to any other OEM type of turbo, a low cost turbo upgrades could be the HTA71 & possibly the FP White.
