You will need to have the evo8 block drilled/tapped for an oil line to feed the mivec on the evo9 head.

you also need the ECU and some wiring in order to make it work i believe.

I dont believe you will need a harness, assuming your car is already a 9. You need the harness for whichever head youre using.

Im assuming your car is an evo9, then you shouldnt need much, I think the only other difference that might need to be addressed is the oil warning light sensor is moved to a different spot on the 9 block (pretty sure they moved it to the oil filter housing).

Thats why you tap the spot where the oil pressure switch was located and feed the head from there

I would guess he vented his old block on his 9 and found an 8 block at the right price to replace it.

Not worth the $ ...

I swap the whole long block, You need the main engine wiring harness, IX ECU to make that work. thats about another 800-1k$ better off building a 8 head TRUST me.

If you have a IX & just need a new block... I'd make sure to just get the right block replacement so you have no issues in the future.

This only makes sense if your installing an evo 8 block /evo 9 head in an evo 9

Basically the evo 8 blocks are cheaper and more plentiful, but lack the mivec oil feed of the 9 block which is a simple fix.

Yup. I said that because it says he drives an 06 Evo.
