Anyone tried Piper cams?
The Piper cams require valve springs regardless. We sell the Ferrea Spring kit which I seriously doubt is going to be stressed by those sets. They have much more aggressive profiles for solid lifters as well.

the extra money may not be worth it unless you're planning a turbo upgrade. eventually i plan or running 3037, gt35 or some equivalent 'large' turbo. I want the extra lift to help spool it. stock turbo may not benefit quite as much
Actually, the European fellas recommend the lesser lift (Ultimate Road) for bigger turbos. Big lift can cause more lag if you go too far. That is their opinion, anyways. Camgears can be used to shift the power band one way or the other.
I won't comment on spool effects of stock turbo since there are too many variables involved. The cam gears can make a noticeable improvement in spool. Retarding EX and advancing IN helps with spool the most. Retarding both helps with top end.
