Try the British forums: lancerregister.com or lancer-evo.com. Piper is popular over there.

Check with Mark @ Quantum-Racing.com.

If I'm not mistaken, he sells Piper Cams.

Yeah I saw that while I was shopping around for cams. That is the very reason I posted this thread. I am more than likely getting Piper. I just wanted input to see if anyone knew if they were high quality, and provided good performance. But with 265 and 11.5 I don't see how they couldn't!!!

PS. Mark I'll be calling soon about those cams. If I get ferrea valves and some springs and retainers too, what kind of deal do you think you could work out?? Thanks

Let's see. I suppose we could make a nice kit for the Piper cam set and Ferrea dual spring kit with retainers and locators. The Pipers run $916 and the Ferrea kit runs $550. We can probably do both for $1400 with free ground shipping. That saves you a decent chunk. They also make cam gears similar to HKS (but in black and red) that are lighter. They normally sell for around $306 for the pair. We can probably knock a bit more off of those if you purchase them as well in the package.

HKS
264' rotation...........10.8mm intake, 10.2mm exhaust
272' rotation...........10.8mm intake, 10.2mm exhaust

Piper
265' rotation...........11.5mm intake, 11.5mm exhaust

The piper's have more than 1mm greater lift than the HKS, with barely any less rotation. I would think that should spool a bigger turbo alot more efficiently. Also, the piper's are rally spec. I am planning on getting the Piper cams with ferrea valves. I'll write a review after I get them and they are installed. Not sure how soon that will be though.

...I think some need to re-read Buschur's post regarding the EVO's cylinder head flow profile...

basicly in stock form the evo head flows like crap on the exhaust side.. anything more than 0.300" (7.63 mm) of lift does not produce any more flow.

now... go stick those cams in a nicely ported head with some big valves and you will have some power... just dont expect piper cams to make any power over the hks cams with a stock head.

True, the exhaust side slows down on it's rate of improvement on stock heads. It keeps right on going with a properly modified head, but explain how ANY upgraded cam is making more power then? The intake side flows more and keeps going up at higher lift a little better but both can make big improvement.
The pipers make more because they also maintain more lift for longer. More lift is more power, even in the stock 4G63 head. It just doesn't keep the same rate of improvement at higher lift until you open it up. Another way to say that, 0.400" lift on stock head flows more air than 0.300" lift. The difference isn't as much as between 0.200" and 0.300" but it is there. A modded head will keep right on going.

Well said.

FYI their website states that the rally cam profile is best for engines with head work. The road cam set with 10.8mm exhaust lift is better for engines with stock turbo and no head work done. The stress on the valve train would be less too
