Aftermarket balance shafts!!

As I'm doing some research, reading a few threads about balance shafts, I found this GSC product: http://www.power-division.com/produc...cat=292&page=1

If I'm not wrong, it looks like a balance shaft eliminate-kit rather than replacements..correct?

The description emphasizes that removing the balance shafts would shorten oil pump life & installing such replacement kit would help support the oil pump.

Could anyone with good mechanical information elaborate, why would removing balance shafts shorten oil pump life?
Is this GSC kit any good?

Why don't you just pm GSC directly? I'm pretty sure they have an account on here.

They just means if you just install the stub shaft, it'll shorten the life span of the oil pump. Nothing wrong with eliminating the balance shafts.

Just use the OEM stub shaft or buy a kit from Buschur or whoever you like. There is no need to "support" the oil pump.

I wont get into a debate about supported vs unsupported, but our kits continue to support the oil pump, and keeps all the bearing surfaces.

Using an aftermarket, lighter wight kit such GSC could be better than OEM stub... I imagine!

+1 on the GSC elim shaft. Why not have the security of ensuring it is supported like the stock one for a few bones more??
