I don't launch my car, EVER.. I know I know no fun, but I have stock transfer, tranny, and diff so I take it easy on her. I have been running this HDSS setup for about 45k now at 420whp/390tq. It doesn't feel like it's slipping even now, but I have had to change the engagement point once or twice in this span of time. I figure it couldn't hurt to change out the disc, especially being so cheap ($120 on sale)

So, can I just swap out the disc and reuse my pressure plate? I will of course put a new tob in while I'm in there, and on a side note I have always used a couple extra wave clips with my tob's in my clutches and it seems to help their life spans.

I say if you have it apart far enough to get to the clutch, time for new everything. To much work to do it twice.

 

You could also take it to a shop and have them remachine the surface of the pressure plate. If you drive it as nicely as you say, they probably won't have to cut it down much.

But I usually always replace it with new.

 

Look for blue streaks on the PP face, along with black spots. If it is minimal, you should be ok to reuse it.
