How come no one ever counts in the BF272 cams? Their freakin awesome! I love my powerband and honestly I would like to keep it close to the same which is why I'm not sold in the S3's.... on the other hand I personally don't like BR which is why I WILL NOT but another set of came from them! Gsc takes care of their people which is why My next cams will be gsc's.

the BF272 i believe are basically modeled after the JUN272,which are high on duration, but a little low on lift compared the the newer, better cams out there now.i think the S2 from GSC will make more power than the BF272 and i know the R2 and the S3 cams will make more.

the R2's will have a similar powerband for you,but have much more lift and will make more power.the S3 have more duration and more lift,so your powerband will move a little to the right.

i feel the same about DB and personally will not buy anything from him either.if he had a set of cams that would make 100 more hp than the R2 and they were $19.99,well i still wouldn't buy them.

but seriously, you will not miss those cams a bit, because both the R2's and the S3's will make better power and are just a better cam overall for racing EVO motors.honestly, you could even go down to the S2 and probably make more power with an even milder powerband.

As it is sitting currently waiting for its new head and cams.

So no go on the stock bottom end pistons on a head without any decking done?

How critical is valve install height and seat pressure going to be with these cams?

I had some friends using the FPX cams on DSMs in the past that had a similar approach (lots of lift and short duration) and all of them had trouble with valve float despite using the right springs and supposedly the correct install height and valve tip height.

Yes there is a cam card, though I have given the specs other than the actual IVO/IVC/EVO/EVC stuff.

They are really close, but technically can work. The issue is stock valvestem seals and some springs can lead to cut/nicked seals. Since they really arent meant for a stock piston motor (or head for that matter) its not worth it in my opinion.

How would the R2 stack up to a set of S2 on my Evo VIII? I have a built 2.0 (AMS/Headgames head, supertech dual springs, 8.8 CR). In other words will the R2 even work, and if so, how well vs. the slightly milder cam? I'd like to move peak power out by a couple of hundred RPM without sacrificing spoolup (yes the whole cake and eat it too thing).

Excellent, I am mostly looking for when the Intake valve closes, so I can calculate dynamic compression.

thank you in advance.

Ported head (stock valves), fabricated intake manifold, tubular exhaust manifold, GTX30 size turbo...and stock bottom end.

R2 or S2 in your opinion?
