help me fix my evo

Ok so here is what I'm dealing with, while I'm driving when I get to around 3.5k rpms the rpms just jump up to like 4.5k then drop back down to like 4k then picks back up.
My turbo not under boost while this happens until it stutters then it only boosts to about 4-5 lbs...
plugs are good... is it a possible leak or coils?
any insight would be appreciated hopefully I explained this well enough, it's kind of hard to explain my situation.

if your still under the oem MAF then its very picky and everyone is going to tell to do boost leak test and make sure thats done before questioning anything else.

Not really sure exactly what you're saying is happening, but sounds like your clutch is slipping. You mean rpms are going up and the car isn't accelerating?

if you replaced the plugs, make sure you put dielectric grease on the indside of the boots. Just put some out of the tube into the boot and ring it around with a clean metal screwdriver (with the engine off of course).

Sounds like your clutch is slipping. Time to look for a new one.

Even if it isn't the cause the problem, doing a boost leak never hurts. Always nice to find out you have a massive leak, fixed it and there ya go, +30 hp.
