Hey gusy/gals I was wondering if anyone has installed the Greedy BOV Type S in their Evo and if they could let me know how it runs and what they think? Thanks

greddy is nice because you can rec. if you get greddy you need to modify if you want VTA you can find it by using == search ===

I have mine but I had to leave both springs in. All I know is that the greddy can hold 23+ psi easy with both springs But it works very well with recir . That is how I am running mine. But I got a gang load of mods though so I needed the 2 springs. 1 spring works very well with close to stock. It sounds nice to Never stalled yet either.

Did you ever datalog your boost before and after the install?

I'm curious because my boost was very jumpy and inconsistent when I had the car dynoed (~20.5 PSI to redline with stock recirc. valve).

I'm wondering if an aftermarket valve would remedy my situation.

I have one greddy gauge in my a-pillar and a profec spec-b. The boost would spike to 23.5 and drop to about 21 psi and stay pretty close to that spot. But that was when I first installed my buschur UIP and the bov the same day. I adjusted the boost back down to 20 psi. My stock valve started leaking on me that is what opted me to buy this.

My experience with the Type S is it's a great BOV with the adjustment and everything, you can tighten it enough so the car won't stall on deceleration (I don't recommend VTA).

Note: The only thing I've ever noticed is most of them have a boost leak at the adjustment screw, so I used a #4 (I think) o ring underneath the nut and teflon tape on the threads and that fixed it.

humm.. my experience with the greddy type-s on the evo is ive actually had to loosen the set screw to avoid the stalls when pushing in the clutch.. if you think about it it makes sense, because if you have it too tight the bov wont lift on part throttle to recirc the exess air being produced by the turbo, causing the motor to "stumble". I went both ways and loosening it up fixed things, i dont have any "stumble" problems anymore.

I agree with that, I meant when venting to atmosphere you can tighten it more, should have been a little more clear (got lazy with the typing).

Anybody figure out what that second nipple is for? I think it's to help open the BOV when off throttle, any thoughts?

I just installed one on tuesday. I like it a lot. Took about 15 minutes to install. I pulled out the small spring from the getgo, and it drives just like stock, but i could swear its spooling quicker on shifts, might just be my imagination though.

I have a bushur intake, so its pretty loud, with a sharp whistle to it. The only issue i have is some slight flutter when easing off throttle in 5th gear around 3k. I probably just have to loosen the set screw a bit. But I have had no stalling, stumbling, wierd idle, etc.

that 2nd nipple is to help open the valve upon throttle liftoff. It basically gives the boost pressure twice the surface area to push against the spring. close to stock evos can jsut leave this nipple open, as thei valve has been tested to open fine without this attachment.
