2.1 with 4g64 short block

Hello guys. Las saturday I blew my engine , I think was because bad compression when I stop the car after a drag race (4th gear to 3rd gear change). I made a big hole in short block.
The only option that I have is to get a 4G64 block. I was search info about build 4g64 2.1L in the forum but are threads like 3 or 4 years old. I need some refresh info.

I don´t know if I blew my engine for that I told you above, or too much boost, kind of oil (Mobil 1 10w40 4T racing)or wherever!

I would like to know what I need to buy and made my build project 2.1 and if you have some tips I would apreciate.

I´m looking for a Wiseco HD pistons and I-Beams rods (manley), but I need to know if I need to use a 4G63 crank or 4G64, because I think my stock crank (2.0 88mm) is bad. I need you advice, thank guys!

2.1L is a 4G64 block with a 4G63 (2.0L) crank and 156mm rods...and then for long rod I believe they're 162mm (could be wrong here, I forget)

88mm crank 162mm rod. off the shelf parts.

you'll need a stroker piston with the wristpin moved up 6mm also

if you need help making sure you get the right parts feel free to message me.

There's no need for long rod 2.1 it's not even needed on 2.0

I was reading and you need 162 mm rods por this swap. I don´t know but I think this custom rods are long rod, or I´m not correct?

The 162 is for long rod an 156 is for standard. There is no need for long rod when std is good for 11000+ on top of that a standard 2.0 runs 150mm rod. Soon as you get in to long rod u need custom pistons to exceed target compression raeh

162mm rods have a 1.84 rod ratio vs the standard 2.1 with 1.77 or so.

OP wants to stick with H beam rods though, so he has no choice but to choose the 156mm rods. (assuming he goes with manleys)

the longer rod version will last longer reving it out though imo. it will run smoother in general. moving the pin up 6mm is not a big deal either. the standard 2.1 might not burn as much oil though since there's no piston oil ring interference. i always question how much the piston is compromised also when shifting the pin up higher.

I dont like 2.4L for drag race. The longetivity is less than 2.0 or 2.1.

Not too much... I want to rev my engine to 8,500rpm not more...I think is enough. With my dead engine i finished the 1/4 mile at 8,300 rpm in 4th.

Have you been able to determine why your engine blew? How much boost were you running at the time? What about fuel? Were you injecting straight Meth? Did you have pump gas or race fuel in the tank? Were you logging AFR'S and Knock on that run? How about peak boost, EGT's and fuel pressure?
