They help alot, keeping oil out of the turbine. I had installed a HKS rs intake a few months back. And the other day I was installing my buchur UIP and looked into the intake, to only find a nice buildup of oil on the inside walls of the intake. Over time it would reach the turbine and build up oil sluge which is not good for the turbine.

Actually i'm not embarrased, not one bit. If some are offended well... what can I say? tough! Go whine elsewhere. I've got brass nuts so flame all you want. My intent on this post was two fold. 1 to just share ideas and possibilities. 2 was to hopefully stimulate an aftermarket vendor/manufacturer to look in to it. Long shots.... so what! I don't give a rat's *** about bling. I needed a can to collect blow-by for a track event I attended to replace the K&N I had on there that wasn't doing so well. I came up with a quick and functional solution that I can live with. It has nothing to do with cheap for me, but trying to convince some of that is a futile attempt.

p.s. RonV, I'm sure we'll meet up at a Cali event. You can tell it to my face then. I'll be looking for you.

Dude, I'm not about bling at all. I just think that you showed a less than half-assed attempt at intalling somethinf that you clearly don't understand. You know how hot it gets under the hood? I can't wait till your juice bottle melts. Why do you want one to begin with? Your car doesn't even need it.

You're making assumptions. Do you think I'd post this if it didn't work? I attended an event at Willow Springs and it held up to the task fine. Don't like a juice bottle, get some other bottle then. Again, the purpose of the post was to stimulate others who may not have gotten a can because of the same issues I was dealing with large cans and limited space. If anyone finds this setup useful at all, use some, all or none of the idea and maybe even come up and share some ideas.
If you think it doesn't need it, my reply is you're wrong and leave it at that.

Hey bro, I'm all for that. This is just a dumb idea TO ME. Sorry if I seem like I'm pissed, I'm not. Sticking a couple of holes in a juice bottle and calling it a catch can is kind up like sticking a light buld up your *** and calling yourself a lamp!

A little history.... The first day I picked up the car off the lot the hose came off the valvecover and a little K&N filter went on. Putting the factory hose back on was not an option for track events. So... it was either have the oil dump into a bottle or let it blow out into the engine compartment. I didn't like the idea of having blow-by in the compartment. It wasn't much, but nevertheless it now dumps into a bottle and it works fine.

RonV,

Maybe you didn't realized i'm in the same state and It just so happens we will probably meet up at an event and if you feel strongly about your opinions you can tell me then if you wish.

If you're going to quote me, don't change my words like you did with your first post in this thread.

You took a jab and responded in a child like manor, so you should have no problem and even welcome the opportunity to do that in person. Have some integrity.

hey, as long as it works... who cares if it looks cheap... it's better spending $10 on something that works as good as a $100 piece

Pretty creative. I've also seen it done with a Gatorade ® bottle.
