Oil lines for PTE turbos

I did some searching and found nothing for what I'm looking for.

I'm going to be running a PTE 6466 with stock placement configuration. Do these turbos like to be fed from the oil filter housing or head, or does it even matter? I know the FP BB turbos I've ran in the past I fed from the head with their in-line restrictor/filter combo.

Does anyone know of any "kits" for oil lines for these turbos?

Thanks guys!

Oil housing. The turbo has a built in oil restrictor. Use the filtered side of the ofh to feed.

I'm getting my feed from the head using an AN4 line to the precision factory installed restrictor and running an AN10 return line. (minimum recommendation from PTE is an AN10 return)

You do not want to be feeding from the head. It doesn't suffient oil pressure. If your turbo fails, i bet PTE won't warranty that turbo if you tell them that's where oh are getting your oil feed from. Get it from the oil filter housing.

Running an inline filter is much added assurance also.

I have an FP restrictor/filter I might "bore" out so it fulfills just the filter part and doesn't restrict anymore.

What do you mean by the filtered side of the feed?

There are two available unused ports on the factory oil filter housing. One is before the oil filter and one is after the oil filter. Use the port closest to the passenger side wheel since its after the oil has already been filtered once.

Most people add an inline oil filter between the oil filter housing and the turbo for added insurance.

Good to know about using the OFH, I'm planning on running a -4 line with an earls inline filter, what fitting do use on the oil inlet?

Hmm.. I routed mine from the head. I emailed precision and they say any turbo smaller than a 5858 could be fed from the head. Im guessing because the cartridge is smaller?

FWIW, I believe STM fed their DBB 6766's and ran 8's with a -4 off the head.

My restrictor fitting seems smaller than -4. Are they supposed to be -3?

My Precision BB Turbo is sourced from the head. Been that way over 50k. No issues to speak of

Agreed on oil filter housing. Zero issues here. It's what PTE recommends. If you do not you will void your warranty if any issues are to arise.

Source: I called PTE when I purchased my turbo and spoke with them on the phone.
