Evo 9 wastegate actuator?

So I bought a Evo 9 turbo for my Evo 8 on Craigslist for $200 with little play. The bastard did not tell me he wasn't going to include the actuator. So now what? Can I use the one off my Evo 8? Im on a budget so I dont know whats a good deal on one or what kind to buy? Whats the best thing to do?

I mean for $200 what did you expect? They usually go for $400+ in good shape, so $200 and just needing a wastegate actuator is still a good deal as long as it's in good shape like you say. Just find a actuator in the FS section, I believe I saw an FP one for sale.

Yes. AFAIK, the spring rate and the diaphragm are the same. So, internally they are identical. But, yes, the angles of the bends of the actuator rod are different to the extent that when you mount an VIII actuator onto a IX turbo it doesn't line up the same at all. The turnbuckle's specific location is off by a couple inches and about 20* when you go to mount it up onto its home on the turbine housing's flapper valve pivot arm.

Correct. Just get an FP HD 18# actuator.
