Boost problem

Ok so I replaced the actuator ( put a 8 actuator in my 6 ) all went well the boost cut is gone, but now I'm facing another problem which is slowly happening more. I'll come on boost and sometimes I'd get full boost but at times I won't be getting anything. It was happening with the old actuator too except with old one it will boost cut. Mostly in 1st and feels like the turbo is sort of choking

Slight shaft play in turbo nothing major, doesn't blow smoke. Stock evo 6 turbo with 8 blow off ( apparently ) any opinions what it could be. Would a manifold/exhaust gasket do this? Thanks!

That's really strange. I'd hate that. Sorry I can't help, but I'll give you a bump in hopes someone can offer some advice.

Thanks mate, yeah it's doing my head in. If it was doing it all the time it would make life easier. Hopefully someone can help.

Boost controller? I would try to hook up a compressor to the WG actuator and see if it opens at a certain psi.

Standard never boosted, it was still sluggish with the old actuator but the old actuator used to boost cut, so I changed the actuator and it slugs here and there sometimes without boost cut now

Spotted a slight oil leak seeping through the turbo flange, anyone think this could be the reason why? Gasket?

Is it fitted with the black, plastic VIII diverter valve?

have you tried a boost leak test? check the turbo, the oil seeping sounds like a problem.

Haven't tried boost leak test yet, that was going to be my next step. Thinking of just taking it past a workshop when I have time get them to go over the car. It's whining abit when driving now not too sure where it's coming from, also knocking when turning anyone have an idea? Cheers
