Just throwing this out there to see if anybody knows what I can do to fix it.

I have been having problems with my Evo 8 (aftermarket turbo, intake, full exhaust, bov) for about 2 months now. Right around 3000 rpm if i get on it it sort of skips and makes no power while climbing through the rpms and makes a sort of backfiring popping sound out the exhaust. A fellow evo tuner said to change out the spark plugs to a 18 thousandths gap and that made it worse, so i changed them back. I brought the car to mitsubishi and they claimed there was no problem they could identify. then i took it to a mechanic and he also couldnt identify a problem with it. I need to know where i can take it to get it fixed and possibly what may be wrong with it. Also, the CEL recently came on.

do you have a AFR gauge or even a boost gauge in the car?

You have a tactrix cable?

IMO, a Tactrix cable is needed when you own a evo and evoScan and Ecuflash.
