Have anyone used the “diode trick” to fix the CEL when running catless? This is a potential alternative for the mechanical CEL fix specially if there are fitment issues. I found this link for AUDIs and the Mazdaspeed guys are also using it. Anyone knows if this works also for the EVO? Here is the link:

I rather spend $5 on a fouler from Autozone, and the 5 minutes it takes to drill it out.

 

There is a resistor fix instead of a diode fix in Ecuflash section.

^thats if you use Ecuflash, for users that dont use it, it doesnt do them any good. At least thats what I took from it..

 

The Buschur Racing TBE I got in '04 came with a thing to wire into the O2 wiring to make it think all is well. Don't know if it was a diode or resistor, but it looked like a little ceramic block with a couple wires coming out of it.

Don't know if they still come with it, but my CEL NEVER came on when I had that hooked up. . . Maybe David can shed some light on what it was and how it hooked up. . .
