Will the CEL light affect performance?

I searched and no answers for this.

I installed the CAt delete. I know how to fix the CEL light. But I have no way to install the cel fix before my race tomorrow.

Will the CEL light affect performance?

I plan to use race fuel.

you got to be kidding me. Yes and no.

it's base on what code it is. some might be are minor like rear o2 sensor. Some can be really bad and could cause major damage. Every them the CEL us on the car is telling you something is not working properly, it's safe to pull the code and see what it is

ok...... u going to need that o2 sim to help you out... your car will run rich because of the readings it is getting from the o2 sensor... I dont think it will hurt you much.. but you will run rich because of it.. not always a good thing..

Well, I just installed the Catalitic converter delete. After a few minutes the light came on, as expected.

Ussually, when you remove the catalitic converter the service engine soon light comes on, you either need an electronic or mechanical fix for this, but that is not the question. I needed to do this and by the time we finished there was no time to install them.

The question, knowing why it happened, is, if the computer enrichens the mixture or leans it at WOT, to the point of damaging the engine or affecting performance?.
To me is a logical question, and I need to know this before tomorrow.

yeah i also saw his post on it. well then he'll will be fine. rear o2 doesn't mean ****, all it does is telling you Yes or No on passing Smog. you can leave the CEL nothign going to happend, but if it bugs you can make yourself a mechanic o2 sim. $3 bucks. search in the How to section.

Yes, I'll do the plug foul mechanical fix. But this will need to wait.

I will travel early in the morning 3 hours, and then race an autocross.
I will have only 1 hr to let the car cool down.

Thanks for the answer.
