CEL...Would buying a CAT fix it..??

So the owner before me straightpiped it and the CEL went on. Before I bought it I did get the code read and I remember it was something about the Rear o2 sensor. So would buying a CAT make the CEL go away? Are there other solutions? I don't feel like buying something to trick the senor.

Well what are those fixes? If I have to hug a damn tree to make the light go away then I'm all for it.

You missed his joke. Tree huggers run cats, scoot over to the ecuflash forum and grab some popcorn and order a cable

Or I can sell you a cat delete that wont throw a CEL. I still have it around from my old setup, my new DP has cat eliminator built in and I am running standalone ECU. Basically it has o2 sensor bung offset from the cat, which pulls the o2 sensor out of the exhaust stream and doesn't throw a code. $60 shipped paypal included. let me know

That cools, just thought I would help out. PM me if you decide you want it. I have been holding on to it just in case one of my friends wants it or if my setup changes and I need to put it back in for some reason. lol

Sorry man, the easiest way to do this is to trick the sensor. You can find o2 sensor spacers on eBay for 13 bucks shipped. It will back the sensor out of the cat about a centimeter or so, so that the exhaust gases aren't as concentrated as they would be at the sensor. Technically your o2 sensor is still measuring exhaust gases, just not as much.

Yeah I was thinking that too after reading some stuff earlier, problem is its hit and miss, but it definently saves money. I wish the works cat didnt cost so much $$
