test pipe with mechanical cel fix

Since I'm going to get tuned here pretty soon and I have absolutely no mods to go along with it I need to get something here quick..I was thinking about a cat delete with the mechanical Cel fix & the $90 dollar forge UNOS MBC. Seems like a cheap mod that can add a little HP.

better than a flash being all stock right? What do you guys think.

A MBC will make more power than a test pipe at this stage of the game.

Than tell him to bring an Unos with him and pick up a boost gauge before hand so you can slap it in and set it up before you get tuned.

Autometer boost gauge $65, Hallman MBC $89, Test pipe anywhere from $30-100 on ebay. K@N drop in filter about $45. I would just wait on that custom tune and get at least 2k worth of mods. Then get that custom tune. You know whenever you put a new real mod, your old custom tune has to be retuned. $$$

get the above and buy my 2.5" axleback. That should be right around your price range and get 1/2 way decent results!

Ive already tried to tell him that he's making a mistake by spending money to custom tune a stock car, but he doesnt listen.

well not really. They run pretty conservative from the factory. I'd be curious to see what kind of gains can be made from just a tune on a bone stock car.

The point I made was on a stock car the cost/hp would be much higher with just a mail in flash vs. custom tune. No doubt he should get a tune, but there is no need to waste money on custom one with a stock car especially if he has future plans to upgrade.

A tune alone on a stock car will still yield very noticeable results. I personally had this done to my car earlier in the year and I will say it was worth the money considering how much more powerful it got compared to stock. I would estimate you would gain about 30-40whp and similar torque just from the tune.

As of right now I'm getting retuned though as I added more parts to my setup. I wish I could be satisfied with what I have, but alas the mod bug is strong...
