my X MR transmission is been doing all kinds of sh*t this morning, wont shift passed 3rd gear, skipping 3rd gear, knocking between shifts and CEL,
tranny service light came on. it sort of goes back to normal after 30 minutes of driving. i went to the local shop and got codes p2733 and p2809. before all that happened, the car had some sort of siren/whiny
sound from the tranny and it gets higher pitched when the RPM get higher, but it goes away after about 15 minutes of driving.

any fixes to p2733 and p2809?

high pitch whine with those 2 code = alot of trouble thats how my sst went out 22 weeks ago and never got it back

how many miles ?
sst oil changed ? and filter ?

Strip off your mods and head to the dealer.

 

took my car to hb mitsu last friday, and i got a call this morning saying that mitsu will replace the tranny and i can get my car back as soon as saturday =)

 

What had you done to your car? When you get it back, please let us know what their diagnosis was.

 

 

Yes... please report back on what the problems were. So far my car's transmission is working fine *knock on wood* but I wanna know what's happening with other people.

Like I was talking to one guy over the weekend who told me he hated his SST. He said it would clunk all over the place... slam into and out of gear in traffic as if it couldn't decide what it should do... and it made the car really hard to drive.

It almost seemed like he was talking about a completely different car?!?!?

 

I think I have the same issue. I left work yesterday night and drove not even a quarter mile and my car went from 3rd gear and downshifted to 1st gear with a check engine and service required light. My car wouldn't shift out of first gear. I turned my car off, waited a minute or so, and turned it back on then everything was fine but I still have the light on. I ran codes, but found nothing. When it downshifted by itself, it just said 1, usually it will say d1 d2 etc. I am taking my car to the dealer tomorrow to see what the issue is. I have no mods on the car and the car only has 21k for an 2008.

 

yea take it to the dealer, another thing is that they wont service it unless they can duplicate the problem. so make sure go to the dealer when the CEL is on
