Blitz EBC gain setting
Blitz EBC gain setting
I need to set this Blitz Dual SBC boost control to 26psi, but I'm not sure what would be an ideal gain setting. The turbo is a Tomei M7960 (stock E9 engine) So, I'd like to set gain as high as possible to help the turbo spool faster. The manual warns that high gain value could lead to boost spikes, but what if I set the warning & boost limiter up to 26psi, preventing boost from going beyond 26psi, would that allow me to insert a very high gain value?
I'd appreciate any advice regarding this gain setting issue.

Just increasing gain alone doesn't help spool as much as you think. Its a combination between reaching your target boost of 26psi using the standard duty cycle, by going up to about 24psi or so. Then you use the gain feature to get to the target of 26psi, and the gain will start holding the wastegate closed starting at about .7bar or so. (i'm really used to the Greddy Profec series, but the principle is the same)
The Blitz has a percentage setting which is the actual boost & other setting is gain. The other a couple threads I found mention that I need to set my boost target first & then gradually increase gain until boost begins to spike, so, I'd reduce gain a notch.
The Tomei wastegate is 1bar (15psi).
I had previously ended up setting a Greddy Proec gain to 25 (stock turbo) I just found that a friend who's also using a Blitz EBC & Tomei turbo had set gain to 65!
