The HKS GTII will spool the same as stock and make up to 480whp - as seen by JohnBradley at English Racing.
I'd rather have a CBRD BBK-Full if I was gonna to with a turbo in the 49lbs min. category

You people are idiots. The HKS turbo is an over priced paper weight. I dont care how much power they made with it I have a friend with a blue evo with the same turbo with Kelford 272 cams with valvetrain tuned by Atlantic Motorsports, made 450WHP on 93 great numbers right? Well it gets its *** kicked by a FPRED car with **** HKS 272 cams all day long that virrtual dynoed ad 415. They fall on there *** up top. And he has a built 2.2 liter, there is NO point for him to get that over priced hunk of metal, there are better options. And anyone with an HKS powered car, go race an evo 9 with cams with a proper tune, youll be suprised with what happens.

I agree, the HKS GTII is a waste of money. it might have been a decent upgrade a few years back, but with all the US companies constantly developing their turbos its pointless to get a older GTII. Any CBRD turbo or FP turbo, especially the ball bearing versions, in the same/similar size will wipe the floor with the HKS GTII. My buddy had a HKS GTII on his Evo 8 with GSC S2 cams and the turbo compressor wheel shattered at only 440whp at 26psi. he reported it to HKS and they basically said too bad
After seeing that experience I will never buy a turbo from a JDM company. I'll stick to FP or CBRD

I loveeeee my HKS 7460R (GTII) jist dynoed today. I had an ef3 i didnt like the lag. Great power top end. But i love the response of the HKS. And i dont go to track or do 1 mile pulls. I just like zipping around and barely hitting the accelerator and feeling the instant spool. I made 368hp/358tq on 93 at 22psiand holding 22. On ef3 i made 401/360tq at 25psi falling to 23. (Same mods)
Difference. Hks full spool at 4k. Ef3 was 5.2k. Really its what your driving preferences are. I jjst love the reaponse.

Well I hope you don't run into the issues my friend did. for that kind of response I personally would've gone with a ball bearing fp green or a ball bearing BBK full. But that's just me

Ya surge issues are a big thing on these. But no problems yet. This bb perfect for me. My tuner compared fp green(jb) with my hks similar mods and it and hks beat it in low/mid. Green was better in top end. But i mean i dont rev to 7k everytime i drive lol. Everyone was like fp this and that. I wanted somtehing different, and defy the
odds.

*** Also if anyone wants to know competion turbo rebuilds HKS turbos.

Not just most people, but absolutely all people have only used what they have. Because, although you can have what you do not use, you cannot use what you do not have. Don't fret as truisms and redundancies abound on these forums.

smartass.. lol

I meant most people have only used one of any given part in their setup. However some people have switched setups or have worked on multiple cars with different parts, or have owned multiple cars put in different directions. When you have experience running different things your opinion is based on experience and worth a bit more than someone who just says "buy an fp/cbrd/etc turbo because it's cool".
