Manley piston ring gap

I was wondering if anybody had any experience with Manley pistons and their ring gap formula. Im building a 4g64 with turbo tuff long rods and the manley pistons to match. According to their formula I would be running somewhere around .018" on the top ring and .011" on the second. Does that seem a bit to tight?? Im going to be running a 35R and plan to upgrade to a HTA86 in the near future. Input would be greatly appreciated.

Thats way too tight. On my 4g64 build I went .022" on the top and .026" on the second ring.

My piston to wall is .00425"

Well Im going to fire it up this weekend. Once broken in and dyno'd, I should be making around 600hp on e85 running an FP black.

Very nice, did you have to notch the block at all for the connecting rods to clear?

I did not have to notch the block. I did add the oil squirters and had to tweak them to clear the pistons.

Ahh, yea the I beans are the ones that dont clear. I notched the casting at number 3 and bottoms of all cylinder walls though I don't think that was necessary looking at it after assembly.
