Which 3582r is this?

I just bought this car and I was told it has a Buschur 3582r on it, but it looks like that is a rather broad description these days.

I attached a few pics, but if there is something that needs more detail I can easily take and post some more pics

I should add, please keep an open mind, because it may not even be a 3582r of any kind?

Thanks in advance.

Its the Buschur kit. I have the same one. Its a FP HTA3582R. The hot side is just goofy because the Buschur cast manifold which runs a DSM 7cm flange and the WG dump goes onto the hot side not the manifold.

link to the kit you have - https://secure.buschurracing.com/cat...d9029df2b0ff83

Are you kidding me?!? This heap (my Evo) has a $4350 turbo kit on it?? I really am blown away that a previous owner would've put this kind of money in this car. Is there anything I should look at, read off, take a picture of, that would verify all of this to be the real deal?

Definitely too good to be true at the moment.

Thanks!

Show us a picture of the compressor fins and I can tell you wether it's a standard Garrett gt3582r or an fp hta billet wheel hta gt3582r.

A normal gt3582r has 6 pairs of fins on the comfessor. The fp hta version has 7 pairs of fins. Garrett's new gtx line has 11 single fins.

That's a standard Garrett turbo for sure. Not sure about your kit though

That is just a normal Garrett gt3582r. It's a standard buschur log manifold gt3582r turbo kit. The the o you have has a fp turbine housing which uses a dsm flange and has a tial 44mm wastegate flange on The actual turbine housing.

I got one of those kits on my car too. It's meant to be stealthy with the shield over the cast manifold. Can't compare to the newer turbos but it's still working ok on my 2.3L stroker.

Guys,

Thanks so much for the very thorough replies. I'm new here and already the site has been a great source of info and feedback. I have soooo much to learn about these cars...

I bought this car last month and I'm going to be building it to see a lot of autocross duty. After a little research this turbo is going to be too big.

Because this entire system is probably the most "marketable" as a complete kit I will post it for sale in the Marketplace soon.

I'm into rugged durability more than ultimate power and it sounds like these drivetrains are just that, up to about 375 whp. With that being the case I really don't intend to ever make more than what the drivetrain can safely withstand.

The car:
-Evo 9
-HKS 276 cams
-Currently this kit (too big and will be replaced with a smaller turbo of some sort)
-HKS TBE

Use:
-Mainly autocross, some street driving, never dragstrip

Goals:
-Good power under the curve
-Rugged durability

Questions:

Replacement turbo suggestions? Currently it looks like stock Evo 9 (did not come with the car), or any one of the TMEs, others?

Because I'll sell this manifold I did not intend on spending big money right now on a nice tubular manifold. Don't laugh, I think I'll temporarily do a Megan 1.75" SS version as long as the location of the turbo is the same as where the better tubular manifolds position them? I want to go ahead and fab any exhaust changes that need to be made to fit a stock type turbo (or other suggestion) and i-clr plumbing and then later I'll just R&R with a better tubular manifold.

Thanks again

If you are only pushing it through the parking lot then yeah it's too much of a turbo. I would spend money on suspension first. Talk to Charles or Sara in the silver Evo as their setup is pretty damn good for Auto-X.
I have a low-mileage Evo9 turbo if you are looking. I am in Birmingham also.

No need for a tubular manifold of any kind if you are planning on running a stock framed turbo. Just find a ported stock manifold for sale and you will be golden.
