Valve Spring and Retainer Updrade?
Dear All,
I'm running GSC S2 with stock spring and retainer on stock VIII MR turbo, looking to upgrade the spring to GSC, MAP or Supertech.
Which one is better?
And is it necessary to upgrade retainer when upgrading the valve spring?
Thank you in advance.
Regards,
Ohm

they will all work well for you. i would personally go with the gsc springs though since you have gsc cams, but in all honesty it doesn't matter which one you choose. make sure you pm/call the vendors to get the best pricing possible.

Do it once and do it right. It's a small cost in avoiding a larger headache down the road. If you cannot afford it now then wait till you can. (Not really expensive to get)
Majority of owners here, as well as GSC recommend springs and retainers for the S2. Contact any of the popular vendors here to get yourself an EvoM pricing. (MAPerformance, STM, TSC, English, etc etc)
Don't think twice about it. Just do it.

hey man, kinda beating a dead horse as the other posters have already said it but....
do it once and do it right. I have stock turbo with S2s as well. Did it when I did my timing belt. I went with gsc spring retainers seats etc. Got em from MAP at a great price. the extra couple hundred dollars is well worth knowing you can rev the **** out of your motor without a worry.
otherwise you may have that rock in the stomach feeling when you miss shift and grenade your healthy motor.
sick cams, contact MAP (or STM or other big vendor). GL

thank you guys
one more thing about choosing it.
i have 3 choices in my mind.
MAP springs and titanium retainers set
GSC springs and titanium retainers set
and Supertech dual set
which one is the best among three? MAP set seems to be best for the price but for the quality?
thank you guys! much appreciated!!!
