Hello All,

Recently developed a metallic rattling sound from my engine bay. It sounds like two or more think metal sheets rattling against each other, sound appears to come from near the exhaust manifold/turbo. When car is idling no sound, rev it and rattle, it is also audible on decel while the car is in gear. With the exhaust dump it is also audible, it dumps right after the dp. I checked for an carbon build up from an exhaust leak at all connections and nothing is apparent. Anyone have any ideas? Manifold is a MAP short runner, welds look good no holes, turbo is an EF4, both are 2 months old.

 

Also spool seems fine so I pretty much ruled out preturbo leak, I logged my car and I am within 100 rpm of my previous full spool since my intercooler swap.

 

Found it, it was a decent sized preturbo exhaust leak. Sounded like metal sheets rattling against each other.
