Competition clutch throwout bearing.

Is this TOB any good? or do I need to buy an OEM TOB?
I haven't seen any good info on this, I know not to use an ACT TOB, but never heard anything about the one Comp uses.
Thanks guys.

i went ahead and bought an oem, but the shop that installed a bunch of the comp clutches said they never had any probs.

o well, oem wasnt much. up to you, i just didnt want to pay the expensive cost again to put in an oem one "IF" the cc tob went bad.

I guess I'll say **** it.
I'm doing the labor, and I'm not at all worried about the clutch job, so if there's someone out there saying it's fine, then I'll just use it. If it goes bad in 10k, I'll let you know.

I had a brand new oem one sitting next to a new cc one and they both looked identical in every way. I couldn't find any differences. I ended up going with the oem one just because but I feel that the cc one would have been fine as well.

I've got about 10k on mine and don't have any issues or odd noises. I thought about going OEM but I figured that Comp did enough R&D to use theirs.

really the only experience i had with this topic was with my eclipse 4g63 and an act clutch i installed , I knew better because of the bad luck act had with their throw out bearing and you already pointed it out that you know about that, personally id go with the oem but if one of the guys already looked at them side by side and can t tell a difference then comp did their homework, if it was a 300 dollar TOB then ok id say to heck with it and throw the comp one in but since there so inexpensive id go oem

and theres my 2 cents lol

Always go OEM on the TOB.

Dont foget to get an ACT monoloc as well. I had my CC stg2 pop off on me without much effort.

my stage 2 has been installed for just over 15000 miles, and the CC supplied TOB s**t itself and damaged part of the pressure plate.

the clutch has always felt weird, it would stink up on hill starts and when it got hot, the pedal feel would change (for the worse) and sometimes have issues getting into gears.

We have had very few issues with any EVO TOB. Keep in mind that many people complain about noise that is falsely attributed to the TOB, when it is gear rattle noise.

A lot of people say comp has bad throw out bearings. I ran one in my sti for a long time with zero issues. No complaints here.

I was told by MAP that the Comp TOB is actually an OEM one.

+1 comp TOB no issues here. OEM and comp looked identical when I installed the clutch, don't think they would just sell things without r&d but that's just my opinion.
