Overheating in 1/4 mile!!

Hello Guys, yesterday I was at the racetrack in my evo 8 with evo 9 turbo at 24psi 272/272 gsc cams and others adds and 330hp. The thing is that when I did the first pass between the 3rd gear and the 4th gear at 7500rpm my car started to raise the temperature not all the way to the H point but raise more than normal so I saw that and I stop the car and the temperature went down to normal as soon I stop the car and I was checking the car to see is there is any break hose or miss water but everything was fine. after that happen I drove back to home and never the car overheat again, I would like to know What was the problem of this issue or what can Cause this issue or what should I check to that? because I dont want to blow my engine. thanks

Slight head gasket leak. The head is lifting which is putting combustion into the cooling system. This will cause the temps to rise very quickly. Gasket is probably not completely shot otherwise the engine really wouldn't cool down. I would check the torque on the head bolts/studs and go from there. Maybe one is too loose. If not, the head may need to come off to change out the gasket.

If it were my car this is the direction I would look.

^agreed time for a head gasket and studs. Once they start leaking they usually never totally seal up.
