stock frame turbo replacement suggestions

Good day, Im a newbie and I need advise on this, im planning to upgrade my stock evo 9 turbo, im leaning towards the stock frame bolt on route, im only looking for modest gains around 320-350 hp or better. current mods, walbro, intake, dopwnpipe, test pipe tomei ti exhaust. everything else is stock.

my choices are hks GTII 7460 turbo kit or Fp Green or black BB version. I want a fast spool turbo with a little bit of extra punch over stock evo9 turbo. Im not too concerned over top end power since its a daily driven car. I just want something that is fun to drive, agile and quick on overtaking and fast on uphill runs.

these are my choices and they are similarly priced. I aslo want to know the difference between fp green, red, black im a little bit confused about them and searching thru the net they are all priced the same, that makes me wonder what could be different about each model.

thanks!

For that power level your best bet is to just stick with the stock turbo and do supporting mods.

fp green will be best. fp black is more top end power (not best for dd). the red is in between the green and black. all are the same price, which sux because i want the green lol.

Yes,all that ,bigger intercooler and E85 if it's available near you and with good tune you can make over 400whp.

FP Green or BBK will be just what you're looking for. I think FP also sells an economical upgrade to the stock turbo, journal bearing.

Seems like a lot of people like CBRD's BBK series turbo. Check them out and ask for Chad.

Go Full Front Mount Kit. 1100cc injecters e85 boost controller and boom around 400hp. port the stock manifold. and turbo to pull a little more power. even with out e85 you will be right at the numbers you want

For the power levels you are looking for something like an FP Red/Black, BBK-3B etc is way, way too large. Honestly the FP Green is probably too large.

For those goals (fast spool, 350 hp peak) I would go with a BBK-Lite or HKS GTII. My preference is the BBK line, but just avoid anything in the 58-68+ lb/min range or you will loose spool at the expense of top end. I personally don't see the point in going larger than a BBK-Full on the stock block, as I think thats the perfect turbo for combination of spool/top end while maxing out the stock block on pump.

for that goals i suggest just doing a full bolt-on setup and a good tune. tbe, cams, ic & pipes, 3-port, fuel pump and a good ecuflash tune. with petron blaze you should be around 350+ whp. also if you have a plastic dv you should get atleast the IX metal.

that power level can EASILY be done with the 9 turbo with supporting mods and TUNE.

just curious, what power level are you at right now? im finding it hard to understand why u need another turbo for that mediocre goal?

/\/\ this

you are asking for quick response, so stock 9 turbo well tuned or BBK lite.. Ball bearing version will reduce transitions making it respond faster between shifts.

Key is to go get well tuned as with your current mods you should be close with good tune anyways..then see if you need a different fast spooling turbo.

Your power levels are easily attainable with the stock evo 9 turbo. I'm running your standard bolt ons + gsc s2 cams, and I was pushing 389whp with an aggressive tune. I have since dailed it down to 350whp and the car is running perfect for a DD, no part/full throttle issues, CELs, buckling, etc...
