bringing this thread back, any more updates with slightly better pictures? Or how your cars have been running with this type of setup? Pros Cons
also I don't know if this has been answer, but anyone who did this setup use a breaker in the rear with the battery?

Thanks!

I've done this on 2 cars so far. Worked/s great. And a lot cleaner. No breaker in the rear.

Thank you sir!

Also Boosted, By chance would you have a better picture of how you setup the fusible like? The OP was kind enough to post a picture, but it was not of the best quality. Any clearer pictures will help thanks.

definitely would like to see more pics. I'm interested in replicating the evo x battery setup. I currently have a Miata battery which is holding up great but I would like to run a slightly larger battery in the trunk just to have that a more stable electrical system.

what is being used to hold the battery in place?

I helped my friend Kyle install this on his 8. We followed the instructions posted on the first few pages of this thread and the overall install was pretty easy. The battery is mounted in the trunk with the Taylor Relocation Kit, all we did was drill two holes in the trunk and bolt the box to the car. We ran the positive wire through the trunk, behind the rear seats and down the trim inside the doors. We pulled up the black plastic kick pieces on the bottom of the doors and clipped off the little grooves to make the cord fit underneath. You cant even tell the wire is there, then we ran it through the front wheel well behind all the plastic and came through the driver side fender near the fuse box. We then found a piece of metal about 2 inch long and maybe 1 1/4 wide, drilled two holes in it and made a little bracket to hold the Evo X Box with, I took some close pics so you could see. I will upload some more pics shortly.

No issues, we did this a few weeks ago and we live in AK so its often times 10 degrees or less out, its his only car and hasn't had a single problem starting. 1 thing that did happen was his AFR were a little weird for the first few minutes because we had the battery unplugged for a few hours so I think it had to relearn his fuel trims. Everything went back to normal after he drove it home.

I did this mod about 3 months ago because i fried my oem fuseable link.. Very easy to install and no issues starting or driving thus far. Really cleans up the bay. Now i just need to get rid of the other wiring that looks like crap.

Great thread! I'm looking to start this weekend.

One thing that I will do is put an inline fuse as close to the battery as practical...just in case. If you don't, the whole length from the evo x fuse to the battery is unprotected. If the cable got damaged (nicked, cut, wear, etc.) and contacted ground (the whole car) there wouldn't be anything to cut the power unless it was fused "behind' the damaged area probably resulted in fire...

So i recommend anyone doing this to put a fuse near the battery.

( Sorry to bring this back up again.)I am planning on doing this to my Evo 8. Now I see where there are 4 place on the bottom where wires go and each one is a different amp. What wire goes where? Also I see where the main power wire is. But what is the other bolt up top for? Is that for the alt?
