For an EGT probe? On exhaust runner #1 (on the left when looking at the engine from the front of the car). You can see mine in this pic:

I've got my EGT probe on cyl 2 exhaust runner about 3" from the head.

Stock manifold is pretty thin material there though.

I've seen and heard the best place for an EGT probe is on the first exhaust runner, just like raptords setup. Since this is the hottest burning cylinder, makes sense.

But recently I installed a ported stock manifold (from English Racing) on a buddy's Evo 8... The egt probe was on the second runner, like WRC-LVR has, ~ 2-3inch downstream. Conflicting information, since I do always tend to believe ER's advice/ methods.

What's your take/ perspective on this Raptord? Do you prefer (if you have 1 probe) to have it installed on the first runner for the reasons I explained? I know on a perfect world, we'd have a probe on each exhaust runner, but cost becomes an object......

I THINK the EGT probe on my stock manifold was on the second runner. Personally I would want mine on the cylinder likely to run the hottest, which should be #1.

My car has been tuned at 26 psi since I got it in February and it hasn't had any head issues
