cotter pin for axle nut

Anyone know what size cotter pin is needed for the axle nuts? I keep forgetting and that means grabbing a bunch of different ones. I will have to write it down next time.

You should replace the axle nut if you take it off so just order them together from mitsu.

I got mine from STM

STM ships me the parts to my door about as fast as the local mitsu dealer can call me and tell me they are ready for me to go pick them up.

I don't see the need to replace the castle nut when doing the axles. They are not single use items. I only would replace them if they get goobered up.

As for the size. pick this up at your local harbor frieght. You will be amazed how often you dig into it.

The Service manual vaguely states to replace with a new one, 26-7 is the section. You are correct though, It doesn't say you have to quite honestly, but the way it was worded Id figure they are cheap enough so why not.
